Brigido Magua

Maestro con camino en el sendero de la medicina tradicional amazónica

Briguido Mahua, age 64, is a respected spiritual guide from the Shipibo-Konibo community of Pauyán—also known as Paoyhan—located in the Ucayali region, Coronel Portillo province, Callería district. This community, with ancestral roots in Paococha, has long been a cradle of medicinal and spiritual wisdom. Since the age of 15, Maestro Briguido has walked the path of traditional Amazonian medicine, guided by his father, the renowned Maestro Manuel Mahua Ochabama, who passed down the sacred knowledge of ayahuasca, ícaros (healing songs), and master plants. This tradition is not only part of his family lineage—it is the living heart of his community. With over four decades of experience, Maestro Briguido leads ayahuasca ceremonies with deep reverence for the spiritual and healing principles of his culture. His work focuses on holistic healing of the body, mind, and spirit, offering a safe and sacred space for those seeking to reconnect with their essence, release emotional blockages, and open themselves to profound transformation. Each ceremony guided by Maestro Briguido is an act of communion—with the jungle, with the ancestors, and with the inner universe of each participant. His songs, presence, and wisdom serve as a bridge between worlds—a living medicine that honors the memory of his people and the power of nature.
